Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Sir David Wears a Crown
Prologue I am the Prologue. He is the device-bearer. I am here to tell you about the play that hides behind these curtains. He serves the simple purpose of balancing me as a decoration. (the Prologue claps his hands and the Device Bearer sits at the side of the stage and henceforth is nothing more than a small part of the picture.) It is possible that something difficult may creep into this simple play. If there is anything you do not understand I shall be glad to explain it to you.
