Publisher's Synopsis
This text covers discrete event digital simulation modelling on a computer. Chapters One to Five describe the basis for any course on which the book might be used - that is, how to formulate the problem and develop a computer program using the extended Lancaster Simulation Environment (eLSE). Chapter Six describes an interactive simulation program generator that has been written to produce a program based on eLSE. Chapters Seven to Twelve describe more general topics essential to the business of problem solving by simulation modelling or that support the technical aspects. Chapter 13 discusses other modelling approaches to demonstrate that the authors are not unwisely biased in advocating the three phase method. Chapter 14 describes the current research activity of the Computer Aided Simulation Modelling project (CASM) at the LSE.
