This dataset example introduces simple regression, which allows researchers to evaluate whether a continuous dependent variable is a linear function of a single independent variable. Most commonly estimated via ordinary least squares (OLS), it is sometimes called OLS regression. This example describes simple regression, discusses the assumptions underlying it, and shows how to estimate and interpret simple regression models. It uses a data subset specifically to examine the relationship between a measure of implicit racism and self-reported attitudes to black Americans.
