Amy Kerns travels the world as a rock star but never gets to experience any of it. Her life is controlled by her manager, Michael. Michael is also her boyfriend. When Amy learns he's been unfaithful, she escapes his domineering grip by running to the only place she feels safe; her childhood home. After the death of her parents, Amy's brother inherits the farm. When Amy doesn't return home for her mother's funeral, she is no longer welcome. Amy believes the farm is the only place Michael won't look for her.
She returns hoping her brother will forgive her and allow her to stay. While on the farm, she meets her brother's best friend, Carter. The handsome Carter Slade gave up his law practice to raise his brother's children after a tragic car accident. Carter doesn't want Amy near the children. He says she is trouble and a bad influence on them.
The children form a loving relationship with Amy regardless of their uncle's objections. They love Amy and her music. No matter how hard he tries to keep the children from her influence, Carter finds he can't stay away.
