Do you know what it's usually like when you wake up after a really amazing dream? By the time you actually get your eyes open the memory is beginning to fade. You hazily remember what you were dreaming about but you can't remember many of the details anymore. By the time you've got your clothes on and had breakfast it's pretty much disappeared and you're left thinking how nice it would be to be able to go back and see what you liked about it so much and what happened next. It's kind of like you had something wonderful and very precious but somehow you lost it and don't know how to find it again. Well, this wasn't THAT sort of dream. When Alex Bascolme has a vivid dream about a dark-eyed girl and a mysterious motorcycle it feels so real that he believes the dream to be a premonition of what is to come and it fills his mind, both awake and asleep. When Alex's dad has to find a new job, the changes that occur ultimately lead to the discovery of the bike that he has seen and heard so often in his dreams. Alex quickly finds that his dreams didn't do the bike justice and there is so much more to the bike and the girl than he could ever have imagined. Alex and his new friends are quickly thrown into a whirlwind of adventures as the real purpose for Silver Lightning becomes apparent and Alex slowly discovers the true price of magic and what it really means to be a hero. It turns out that it's nothing to do with superpowers and capes but EVERYTHING to do with courage and loyalty.
