Publisher's Synopsis
Documentary that examines the German siege of Leningrad during World War II. The siege lasted from 1941 to 1944 and caused the deaths of over half a million people. The documentary aims to bring to life the story of individuals caught up in the siege and features extracts from the diaries of a 16-year-old boy and the tale of a man who played a key role in creating the 'Road of Life', a passage through which vital supplies could be smuggled into the encircled city.
