INTRODUCTION This is an anthology of five SHTF stories of nuclear warfare, economic meltdown, and pandemic apocalypse ranging from the zombie outbreaks and demented psychopaths of survival horror to the more realistically grim prepper and survivalist fiction of a world in collapse. Words: 54,272 POLICE STATE PREPPER The American Police State is upon us, and I have written this document as a means of giving you some perspective on how things got to be this way and what some of us tried to do about it. POST-APOCALYPTIC I belong to a gang of former Roller Derby Girls called the Dirty Harriets knuckle up and survive in a skyscraper fortress, surrounded on all sides by the ruins of New York City. This is my short 'dear diary' of life in the urban wastelands against ruthless scavengers, irradiated mutants, and bloodthirsty clowns. You're welcome. KILL THEM ALL The outbreak took everything from me, and since then I have killed one thousand nine hundred and seventy three of the walking dead. PREPPER HERO This is my short 'thank you letter' to my departed father, who died face down in the woods fighting for what he believed in. This is the brief story of a former police officer and family man who when the SHTF had to make sacrifices, endure hard choices, and struggle daily to do his part to re-build his world one survivor at a time. PREPPER FALLOUT A family divided in the wake of World War III learns through hardships and victories that it is people, more than guns or stockpiles that make a band of preppers strong. Ruins of Chicago - I am Winona Sinclair, a widow, a mother, a survivor of nuclear fallout, and now a killer. We emerged from our bunker to find that the world had become a wasteland, filled with bloody savages and deadly survivalists. Disease had touched our group, and now it is on me to recover the medicine that will save us. Dominican Republic - My name is Hannah Snyder, the unluckiest prepper in the world. I have a sturdy cabin and a robust stockpile back in the USA, but when the SHTF I was lying on a beach drinking a pina-colada. So much for a big family and all those years spent preparing, instead I got to face the apocalypse with nothing but my fists and a few kitchen knives.
