Thompson was born in 1939 in the middle of Missouri. He was raised in a broken home during W.W.II. He lived on a share cropper farm most of his early life. David is married, has raised three children, and has several grandchildren. He served in the United States Navy. After working many years at a brick factory he retired and started driving a truck. He is now focused on writing his short stories.
