The morning of the funeral I had written nothing, but I wasn't worried about it. I knew it would come to me. I sat down at my kitchen counter and started looking through my Mom's box of writings. I had read many of them, and thought I'd find my inspiration for the eulogy there. I did. There were 5 pieces that, when read in a sequence, told the story of her life.
Family members complimented me on my eulogy. I reminded them that not a word of it was mine, it was all Mom's. It was then I decided to put our unique story into a book. This would get her work published...and help me put my rotten past behind me.
