The size of the problem may be bigger than you realise. Did you know that at the time of the most recent Census of England and Wales, 22.2 million people declared that they had "no religion". That was 37.2% of the adult population - well over one third of adults said they had no personal faith of any sort.
So, what do you do, if, as a Christian you cannot give a reason for what you believe beyond "because the Bible says so"? That may be enough for you, but is it enough for someone who doesn't yet believe? It wouldn't have been enough for me, I doubt it would have been enough for you, either. This book is designed to be a tool that will, I hope, prepare you to be able to explain why you believe in Jesus. It deals with some quite thorny subjects... Some of those "hot potatoes" I mentioned earlier. There may be areas you find personally challenging. That's OK. I hope what you read helps you on your own personal journey as well.
As Christians, if we are unable to explain why we believe, I do not think we can hope to change the statistic that caused me to write this book. It is my hope and prayer that this little resource helps you to do just that.
