Publisher's Synopsis
From the world-wide angle, researches into sex have been rather scarce as yet. In Finland, an extensive nationwide study has now been completed, which gives an overall view of the peopleÆs sex life with its related pleasures and problems. The research data published in this book helps to give answers to questions such as: What do Finns think of sex and the properties on different occasions? How has starting sexual life changed? What has the sex life of singles been like? What kind of sexual partners have people had? What sexual practices have they been engaged in? - - The information given in this book is based on a nationally representative survey of over 2,000 people aged 18-74 years conducted in Finland in 1992. It has been possible to compare the data from the year 1992 with the data from a similar survey carried out in 1971. The results show a change towards greater diversity and equality in sex life and towards increasing sexual pleasures. This book is a serious scientific study its purpose is to expand peopleÆs understanding of their most intimate area of life.
