Every church has two "personalities" . . . one is "spiritual," the other is "civil" . . . even our Lord Jesus recognized this. While pastors, elders, deacons, and other leaders readily identify the spiritual needs of the church and its members and attenders, and how to respond to those challenges, these same leaders often have little or no familiarity with the civil responsibilities of the church corporation. And it's not necessarily their fault . . . after all, churches are exempt from the law, right?
