When David Lovett Hughes, assistant director of One, a multinational intelligence agency, finds his agent, Jake Turner, on the beach, he has important news for his young protégé.
A woman named Rachael-vital to both Hughes and Turner-has been returned from a nightmare ordeal at the hands of a shadowy and cruel man named Maliq. Maliq kidnapped Rachael and took her away to Saudi Arabia. There he gave her a new identity, brainwashing her with violent and domineering techniques.
Now that Rachael has been recovered and brought back to the United States, Hughes informs Jake a new mission is about to begin-and this time it's highly personal.
But as Jake throws himself into reprogramming the damaged woman using questionable techniques learned from his mentor, the lines grow blurry about what really happened and where everyone's true motives and allegiances lie.
