Publisher's Synopsis
Transformation: Mura has suffered another of her random bouts of 'dimensional weirdness' and has detected a cry for help which she wishes to answer. However, this time the trip is radically different, and results in everyone being altered in a very surprising way. But there is a mystery to be solved and it is up to the companions to rescue a kidnapped member of royalty. True to form, they succeed in their mission, but that isn't the end of their troubles. There is another danger present and, in when it materializes, Dawn undergoes an horrific trauma, which results in a bitter fight with Mura. In the meantime, Zea is struggling with her feelings for Mura, being unable to commit herself one way or the other. Ama is critical of Zea's indecision and urges her to reciprocate Mura's obvious devotion, but Zea still can't bring herself to admit there is any link between the two of them.
Dilemma: Zea and Mura are establishing the beginnings of a relationship, but all is not well. Dusk finds herself suffering from a particularly vexing problem which seems to have no solution. Mura undergoes one of her mysterious mental blanks and wanders away. Despite a frantic search, she can't be found anywhere. However, thanks to Kar's psychic ability, she is finally located, almost dead from a severe beating. This leads everyone on a quest for a mysterious secret weapon - one which could very well destroy the fragile Peace Treaty between two worlds. With Mura recovering in hospital, and Zea as her guardian, it's left to Ama, Kar and the twins to unravel the clues in a race to prevent a disaster. In doing so, the twins display a number of hidden talents, much to Ama's surprise and embarrassment. Through a mixture of tenacity and daring, they succeed in their endeavors, but at a terrible, heart-breaking cost. So, despite her injuries, Mura has to achieve the impossible in order to set things right.
