Publisher's Synopsis
This book is the culmination of the Trent Editions Laura (Riding) Jackson series, and its three complementary sections represent a crucial contribution to scholarship on her life and work. The author's letters to Mark Jacobs provide a window into an important decade of Laura (Riding) Jackson's life. Publication of her 'Selected Poems' in 1970 and the book version of her prose work, 'The Telling', in 1972 had marked the revival of her poetry and her re-emergence as a writer of compelling and eloquent prose after more than a quarter century of relative silence following the publication of her Collected Poems, 1938, and subsequent renunciation of poetry.
