Publisher's Synopsis
I vividly recall a conversation I had with my grandson, Jaxon, when he was just four years old.
We were discussing the life of Martin Luther King, and somehow, the conversation veered
towards the topic of preachers. I mentioned to him that he, too, was a preacher. To my surprise,
Jaxon confided in me that he didn't particularly enjoy listening to preachers. Intrigued, I asked
him, "Why not?" He replied with childlike candor, "Because I don't always understand what
they're talking about." Then, looking earnestly into my eyes, he said, "Nana, when you preach,
just talk so I can understand you."
Jaxon's simple yet profound response resonated deeply with me and has stayed with me over the
years. It made me reflect on how often, as adults, we leave church services without a true
understanding of the preacher's message.
When I set out to write this book, my primary goal was to make it straightforward and
accessible. Before crafting each entry, I sought divine guidance from God. His inspiration would
manifest in various forms - sometimes through a song or a cherished memory, and other times, it
would flow directly from the pages of my Bible as I prayed for His guidance. Within the pages of
this book, you will find plain and simple truths, including some of my personal stories and
experiences. My intention is to assure the reader that they are not alone in their feelings or
experiences.
As Christians, it's imperative for us to remember that we were not always saved. It is our divine
duty to assist others on their journey toward Christ. In these pages, I've candidly shared my
personal experiences and the invaluable lessons I've learned along my spiritual journey. My hope
is that these lessons, combined with the supporting scriptures, will serve as a guiding light,
leading the reader towards repentance and ultimately, salvation.
