Publisher's Synopsis
Seed of Hue: Completed Series
Part 1:
Cut and Shoot, Texas wasn't meant for black folk to live in, especially young Hue Jones. Hue was often warned never to approach or try to interact with the white folk from the small town he resided in, no matter what. Especially the ones from the other side of the river. He'd heard many stories about people who shared the same colored skin as him being beaten severely just for looking in their direction, but he remembered one favor from his father, "Promise me that you will never do it, Son?" Those words echoed in Hue's mind repeatedly, all the while staring at the little white girl sitting on a swing waving for him to walk across the bridge to play with her with a big smile on her face. Hue had never witnessed such joy on the faces of the people he knew. But crossing over to experience what the little white girl was feeling could kill him if he was not careful
Part 2:
All DJ Liter ever wanted, dreamed, breathed, ate, and lived was the game of football. It was his pathway to stardom. But his father hoped he would one day outgrow the sport and come with him to a place where he could lead a nation. After a horrific tragedy, DJ saw no other choice but to join forces with his father.
Big Dan Liter had it all planned out for his only son and was determined to have things go his way, even if it meant some people would get hurt or even die to make his vision come true. He wasn't aligned with his son's dream of playing football, so he thought, "What if I make it to where DJ could never throw a football ever again? What if I rid him of all his athletic abilities? I have all the money and the power to make my only son bend to my will."
Hue Jones thought working at the large estate was a big change for the two friends. It was nothing like watching each other from across the large river bank as kids so many years ago. He tried his best to keep his distance from Sara Lee. But he often found himself seeking her out but would turn away when she noticed. However, Sara Lee seemed to welcome his stares with a few of her own as well as a smile. After their first kiss, Hue would stay up at night imagining what it would be like if he were to take it further. Even though Sara Lee was married, they both knew without a doubt that she belonged to him. But with Hue's lust for Sara Lee came a great danger. Fear of death weighed heavy on his mind from the old general who confessed he would kill him dead if he caught him around his granddaughter.
Sara Lee fell in love with Hue and is now caught between a rock and a hard place. When pressed to make a decision, does she bend or stand strong?
Hue's love for Sara Lee was compelling, but how much power does love hold? Is it powerful enough to break hate?
