See Sharp Knives is the second anthology comic book to be published by the Mystery School Comics Group in the past year. At 50+ pages See Sharp takes a lot of turns exploring everything from the absurd to the deeply personal. The Mystery School have really created a love letter to comics with this book, while also contributing a collection of fresh new voices to the medium. From the disgusting movie send ups of Movie Mutations, to the darkly comedic Baka Destroyer, the book delivers a wide array of styles and tones.
See Sharp Knives marks a turning point for the Mystery School collective, representing months of hard work, and money spent. As an unknown collective the MSCG go out of pocket in this crime of passion, and rarely ever see the money again.
Each book is a product of self abuse, See Sharp Knives may as well be the Iron Maiden of comics. Not only is the struggle to create full of moments of self doubt, a sense of personal failure, and dreams unfulfilled. Our reward: we get to pay our own money to print it up. Goodbye sweet, sweet cheddar cheese that we slaved at our day jobs for... Hello naughty comic book (it's not for kids) that we are ashamed to show our families!
