The Security and Intelligence Studies Journal is the world's first undergraduate research publication specializing exclusively in the areas of intelligence, security, terrorism/counterterrorism, geopolitics, and international relations. It is published at King University in Tennessee, USA, under the auspices of the Office of Student Affairs and the King Institute for Security and Intelligence Studies. For its second issue, the SIS Journal has selected some of the finest undergraduate writing on the subject: "Al-Qaeda: Past, Present, Future." This volume contains timely research and analysis on various aspects relating to this elusive militant organization, including: the perceived collapse of its central leadership; the move toward decentralization; and the tactical reorganization of the group's activities following the demise of its founder and emir, Osama bin Laden. Authors also examine al-Qaeda's new Internet-based recruitment tactics, as well as its emergence in a host of increasingly unstable geopolitical environments, such as Yemen and Somalia.
