Publisher's Synopsis

I'm a film scriptwriter in Hollywood, with a partner called Ellie who's eight months pregnant and a film director, Harry Badella, who's rude irascible and always applying pressure on actors and writers. However fifty years ago, I was evacuated to Cornwall during World War Two and fostered by the Laitys. They had a son, Patrick, and for years I wanted to go back to meet him. There was never a suitable time. But eventually I take the bull by the horns and fly to England to discover Patrick died many years ago. Then I discover that he's actually still alive. I extend the search which suddenly proves to have many ramifications. After delving deep into Patrick's past, there are three attempts to kill me and bodies seem to accumulate around me, each one, ostensibly, an accidental death so the police are unable to arrest me. I find papers from a Roger Blake, scientist, that relate to the Star Wars project... Everyone is searching for Blake's papers and I embark on a smuggling escapade to find Patrick. There is a great deal of intrigue, many twists and turns. I find a woman with whom I fall in love, and there are some nightmare situations, such as the visit from a man with an iron hand and finding myself hanging over Hell's Mouth, where many people go to commit suicide. An exciting intriguing remarkable tale with many ramifications.
