For all this volume's hard edges, it is underpinned by an empowering truth; that hope and love are the driving agents of change. They are the two meandering banks between which the fortunes of our lives course. Whatever the challenges we face, having hope and giving hope cost very little, it's living without such things which remains unaffordable, especially through these turbulent times. This collection comes out after posting shorter pieces online over the last couple of years. For all social media's clichés, it has the potential to join up writers and readers who never would have crossed paths otherwise. Likewise, it has undoubtedly brought my writing to the attention of many who didn't read such work to begin with. It is a changing frontier but an exciting one to be a part of.
