Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Scripture Readings Selected for the Use of Teachers and Schools
The spelling and printing of the more ancient versions have been preserved, though modern type has been sub stituted for the old English letter. In some cases, the various readings in these versions have been introduced into the text; and more rarely, the readings preferred by the American Committee on the Revised Version. A careful comparison of readings will show, not merely how much in harmony these versions really are, but how truly the English Bible, in all its varieties, is substantially one and the same Book - our common heritage.
