With unbated zeal he pressed ou. The jaded deer was in full view, and fast on its ?ying tracks were the hounds. Scarce a spear's length behind, and glorying in What seemed to be easy Victory and noble prize, the hunter, expecting the animal to turn at bay, drew his whinyard; but instead, his own exhausted horse stumbled and fell. The impatient rider strove in vain to rouse the noble beast that had fallen to rise no more.
