Science Scope is a new series of science texts for teachers who teach 11-14 science as three separate subject disciplines. The books are aimed broadly at middle-ability students, with the core material at National Curriculum Levels 5/6, but contain all the material needed for pupils to reach the highest levels. In addition, the books include all the material needed for pupils to complete their Common Entrance 13+ exam.
The series is completely up to date with the latest National Curriculum Orders and Common Entrance syllabus.
Science Scope Biology Teacher's Guide features the following main elements:
1) Assessment tests for pupils, including SATs style, Common Entrance style and extended questions to stretch more able pupils.
2) Teacher's notes, linking each chapter to the QCA Scheme of Work, with safety notes for experiments, common misconceptions explained, and links to the Science Strategy, supporting teaching within the context of the strategy.
3) Practical activities, divided according to chapters in the pupil books. These will cover the key aspects of Sc1
4) Answers to end of chapter tests in the pupil books and assessments in the teacher's guide
5) Mark schemes, relating the assessment tests to National Curriculum levels
The Guide a CD which comprises editable files of all the material in hard copy form.
