Immediately after the completion of Wallenstein Schiller began studying for Mary Stuart, his next play. But before this was produced, his Song of the Bell appeared. This was always his most popular poem, and sank deep into the German heart.

Toward the end of this same year Schiller moved with his family into Weimar, where he Spent the rest of his short life. From this time on he received a yearly pen sion from the Grand Duke, which made his circum stances easier, and he soon had a home of his own, where he worked and studied, and where his friends Often met.
