Tired. Aislinn deAvaric is tired of fighting and frustrated by forced contact with the mate who betrayed her. Since dragons are made of fight, giving up isn't an option; so she endures, hoping to find a way to break their lifelong bond or at least find the strength to even the playing field. But when a storm at sea washes her overboard, 'til death' do us part' might come sooner than she expected.
Onyx of the Clans of the Crescent Moons is tired and weighed down by wounds of his own, but when the half-dragoness washes up on his beach, there is no choice for the selkie: he has to nurse her back to health. Hopes that she could somehow change his luck are answered in the worst way as hunters come after the pair, hoping for a payout from the selkie's valuable hide.
Wounded, with no one to trust but each other, and nowhere else to flee, the pair will have to make a stand and hope that together they'll be enough to survive.
