Publisher's Synopsis

SAY THE WHOLE THING! is a fictional memoir of a story about a Southern Woman who had the opportunity to marry and have children as well as a career ... during an era when most middle class white women were expected to stay at home and to accept the role of wife and mother. This book describes one woman's path toward managing a family along with her career as a speech language pathologist and later as a University professor. The author takes care to include the humor, sadness, and unpredictability of her employment as a speech/language pathologist in private clinics, sheltered workshops, long term care facilities, and day-care centers. The reader will be introduced to the author's memorable depictions of some of her patients as well as of her management of University politics as she struggled to be awarded tenure.

The author is a former University professor, having published scholarly articles on the academic subjects of speech language pathology, learning disabilities, and child development. This book is a departure from her first book, ETHEL LEAVE HER ALONE, as she describes exiperiences from her first professional workplace at the University of Virginia to her retirement as a tenured University Professor Emerita in Winston-Salem, NC.

She and her artist husband, Peter Driscoll, reside in Columbia SC with their two dogs ... Katie and Bernie.,
