Publisher's Synopsis
John, a formerly homeless Vietnam vet and Mary, his new wife, honeymoon in Hawaii and cross paths with a wild man many locals refer to as Charlie who lives in the rain forests on the island of Maui. Charlie is a deserter that disappeared from the Vietnam War shortly after joining the marines. His family is told he is an MIA and they believe after twenty years that he is dead. John reaches out to him, throwing him a lifeline but is rejected and leaves discouraged, until one day Charlie decides to return and come back from the war to a family who, though believing him dead, was always waiting for his return. This story focuses on being steadfast and not giving up but continuing to invest in others' lives even when it seems there is no earthly reward.
