When Amanda confesses to her husband Matt that she has been having an affair, he unexpectedly tells her "I know".
Under the threat of divorce, Matt forces Amanda to admit that she has had long-standing issues of low self-worth and self-esteem. With Matt's support, Amanda goes on a long and terrifying journey to find where in her past these issues come from all the while never knowing if her marriage will survive once she reaches the end.
Matt also must also go on his own journey to find the strength to forgive Amanda all the while shouldering the burden of her mental illness.
