As a very young girl, Sarah set her sights on Hector, who is ten years her senior. When he leaves Kenya aged eighteen to go to England to study to be a vet, she plucks up courage to kiss him. By the time he returns she is much more mature and has her flying license. Their love quickly blossoms, but it is 1938 and war threatens everything. They know that they will have to part, but they take a giant leap of faith and get married. Separately they face horrendous dangers. Their heroic efforts for the allied cause do not go unnoticed.
