The hymn is a cluster of twelve important names of lord Ganesha. Each name is sacred and has an inner meaning this hymn is chanted for the destruction, pacification of crisis and rectification of obstacles in the path to attaining our desires.
The names describe the form of lord Ganesha and reveal the greatness of the lord and have deeper meanings revealing the aspects of the lord as described in Vedas and Puranas. Each name is also associated with a particular form of Ganesha described in the mantra shastra and can be contemplated on and worshipped separately also. However, all the twelve names in this hymn also fit lord Ganesha the well-known son of Shiva and Parvati.
