Publisher's Synopsis
In the land of the six kingdoms, there are the mysterious ice kingdom to the far North, the three kingdoms of lightning, fire, and water constantly at war, and the wind kingdom in the West. All the way in the South, there lies the sand kingdom. Scattered across these kingdoms are rare powerful sources of immense energy known as Life Stones with each kingdom containing a main Life Stone. The Life Stones have a strange phenomenon of giving certain people the ability to create and control their surroundings that they were born around. In the sand kingdom, those affected by the Life Stone mostly find themselves able to create and control sand. They are called sand users and train to protect the largest Life Stone at the sand temple in Sand City. After mysteriously being away for two years, a sand user named Sento has returned to the sand temple to train his three new students: Sedge Gryder, Thuran Hurd, and Lora Farjoy. Sedge dreams of traveling through the six kingdoms despite there being an age old law by the sand council that no one born in Sand Kingdom may leave it. However, unknown to them, an ancient crystal enemy known as the Zarls that were sealed away have suddenly begun mysteriously appearing in Sand Kingdom again. Did someone unseal the Zarls on purpose? There may be a traitor at Sand City and it very well might be a sand user. To make matters worse tensions run high with a neighboring land in sand kingdom called Visc that Sand City was at once at war with. Yet the Zarls may prove to be too much for both lands to handle. Out of sand kingdom would come one who would shake the world of the other kingdoms, and start a new era that the world had never seen before.
