Riley Brooks spent almost every summer of her childhood in Sand Dune Beach, Florida. It's where she made lasting friendships, fell in love for the first time, and where she fell out of it. Sand Dune Beach holds many of the important memories of Riley's life. Now, with a daughter of her own, Riley has moved to Sand Dune Beach permanently, looking for a fresh start and to continue the tradition of Sand Dune summers.
Riley is not interested in dating. Her last relationship was messy, and as the single mom of a four-year-old daughter, it just doesn't seem in the cards for her. Until she meets Carson, a tourist on a marine biology retreat for the summer. Despite her insistence that they remain friends, Carson continues to show up for her, and she finds herself wanting to be around him. Will she be able to open herself up to love again?
Carson Daniels has had a rough couple of years. After his family suffered a tragic loss, he finds himself stuck in the past. But now, he's spending his summer in Sand Dune Beach where he meets a cute barista, Riley. Riley is sarcastic and spunky, and she draws him in, making him want to confide in her. Will Riley be able to help him put the past aside and move forward?
