Sanctuary

The inhabitants of New Orleans thought they were safe. They had survived countless storms and were not about to evacuate. In those late days of August, 2005, they thought they could overcome. They were wrong. They put their homes, their property and their lives in the hands of a levee system. They gambled on the Bayou and lost when the levee broke, washing away everything they had.
