Written and illustrated by a Navy SEAL and his wife as a COVID-19 quarantine project in 2020, the first edition was given as a gift to a platoon mate's first child. Critical reviews were resoundingly positive, and "Sammy and Freddy are Friends" subsequently welcomed two additional SEAL children into the world. With demand for the book increasing, the original authors sought a way to make the book more widely available.To achieve this goal, they transferred authorship and illustration credit to Sammy Seal and Freddy Frog. Additionally, they partnered with S.F. Publishing to make "Sammy and Freddy are Friends" available to the public. With the help of S.F. Publishing, all proceeds from sales directly support the Navy SEAL Foundation. The book, "Sammy and Freddy are Friends" now tangibly benefits Naval Special Warfare families and operators past, present, and future.
