The Book of Lots is a roleplaying game supplement like no other: a set of oracles to forge immersive adventures designed to be consulted using the literary divination technique of bibliomancy. The oracles don't just guide your story, they become part of it, weaving wicked AI entities, wondrous lost cities, and plasma-gauntleted adventurers into every decision. Will you uncover hidden wonders or brave the perils of a broken world? Listen to the cryptic whispers inside to find out!
Use any RPG rules you choose, or none at all!
The Book of Lots is designed from the ground up to integrate with any RPG system, containing thirteen traditional oracle tables ranging from character and location generators to perils and encounters, even enigmatic comments and rumors you might pick up along the trail! But it's the core bibliomancy oracle that makes this book different from anything else you've seen! With 2,500 numbered texts grouped into chapters, the Book of Lots provides a novella-length book of fortune to be consulted as story prompts or judgements that add the flavor of the unique Salt Mystic setting with all its wonders and beasts!
While compatible with any RPG systems, the Book of Lots also provides a self-contained and extremely streamlined system itself that is diceless and doesn't even use a character sheet. The rules can be fit onto a single page and learned in minutes, but providing a rich and liberating way to experience your own adventure. Also included is a map with atlas descriptions for 20 locations and a glossary and index for elements you'll encounter in the oracles.
"The thrill and danger of exploring lost worlds inside the cover of a book!"
Designed and written by Brian Bennudriti, the Book of Lots isn't just a groundbreaking idea book. It's an experience! While crafted with the solo player in mind, the simple oracle consultation rules and text could easily be included in group games.
"Arm yourself; there's no map. We're going in!"
