Publisher's Synopsis
Sal acquired the horse he wanted and a saddle that he fancied. A cattle drive to Kansas was the first big thing. River crossings and learning as he went soon got the attention of the Ramrod. He kept an eye out for a likely mare to mate with his new stud horse, Lightfoot. Then the trip home has some problems also. The trip home was not without incidence. It was just about as bad as moving the Longhorns north. Sal makes a couple of friends on that trip. When he returned home he found that he was popular, and old friends began to call him Mr. Jolly. And good fortune was new to Sal. He had known hard times, and short money. Perhaps this is what made him such a sharp trader.
