Including such diverse figures as Circe, Hermes Trismegistus, Faust, Hildegard of Bingen, Giordano Bruno, Al Hallaj, and Pascal Beverly Randolph, particular attention is given to the words or writings of each of these remarkable figures, allowing each to speak with his or her own voice.
