Publisher's Synopsis
This Catechism is intended as a basic statement of the Catholic Faith in the Old Catholic Tradition. It was meant for the instruction of the laity, particularly children, youth, and those new to Catholic Christianity. It is not intended as a research document for theologians to pick apart and criticize. In learning the faith as herein presented, one must remember that the revelation of God and our knowledge of God is forever ongoing. Hence, the material herein should be seen as a commencement of a journey rather than a destination. Religious truth as we know it is neither set in stone nor from a single point of origin. Rather, it is an ongoing, infinite discovery that will never end. Hence, both those who instruct, and those who learn from this catechism should not consider religious doctrine as a closed book. To do so is a fruitless attempt to confine the Holy Spirit into a box with dimensions and construction of our choosing; when that happens, the Holy Spirit loses Her freedom to bestow sanctifying grace on human lives.
