Publisher's Synopsis
This volume is divided into an introduction and five sections. Inaugural addresses by Coloman Viola and the late Sir Richard Southern comprise the "Inaugural Plenary Session." In his opening remarks, Professor Viola sets the scene for the 1990 Paris conference and commends those who have recently been involved in the study of the monk from Aosta. The late Sir Richard Southern, the grand gentleman of Anselm studies at that time, connects Anselm's thought with his life experience among the monks at Bec and Canterbury.
