Publisher's Synopsis
When a dragon-mortal bond is broken by the death of one, the other will die of grief within the span of two moons. Kessler's dragon, Ilona, broke their bond when she gave up her life to save his on a rancid battlefield. With her dying breath, Ilona gave Shai, a young war child, the weight of Kessler's grief with the hope that Kessler will bond with her unborn son: a dragon wetling that will hatch from his egg within two moons. Though Kessler and Shai search for Ilona's son together, a dragon can only bond with one mortal at a time. If Kessler can bond with Ilona's son, he will live, and Shai will die from the tormenting sorrow that comes from the grief of a broken bond. Freedom embraces choice and it always comes down to a choice in the end...
