Ben Saddler, sometime soldier of the Confederate Army, has had many jobs: scout, gambler, barkeep, deputy sheriff, road agent, cowboy... Now he is a whiskey runner trying to scrape a living in the Indian Territories. His life takes an unexpected turn when he suddenly finds himself responsible for a young girl.
