Publisher's Synopsis
Shamus O'Shaughnessy O'Rourke leaves Ireland and comes to America to locate his cousin Mick. He works his way through night school while working as a longshoreman and becomes a reporter for a major Boston newspaper. His editor sends him west to report on a gold rush where he has to overcome severe adversity to achieve his goals.
