Publisher's Synopsis

Putin has invaded Ukraine Again

On Thursday 24th February 2022, scenes of anarchy gripped Ukraine's capital, after citizens were awakened before dawn to the sound of missiles pouring down on Kyiv.

According to world leaders, the escalation, which Russia termed as a "special military operation" and the US as "premeditated war," has become the greatest threat to peace in Europe since World War II.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine is currently taking place on land, sea, and air. Hundreds of missiles have been launched into Ukraine, with the intention of striking military objectives including as airfields, barracks, and ammo depots.

Columns of Russian soldiers have been crossing the border between Russia and Belarus, and further forces are arriving on the southern shores. Volodymyr Zelensky, Ukraine's president, declared a curfew and martial law.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has stated that he wishes to "demilitarize" and "Denazify" Ukraine, but experts and historian Peter Wilson say he is fearful of Ukraine's relationship with the West and views the country's prospects of joining NATO as a security danger to Russia.

Russia and Ukraine have a common history spanning over a thousand years, marked by conflict, starvation, and identity politics. Centuries of European conflicts have divided and reunited the two states, which have been ruled by various emperors and republics.

Why Russia is invading Ukraine and what Putin wants. How Europe, America and NATO are Responding and How Russia Can Be stopped.
