Every summer, Georgiana Bennett leaves her relatively quiet life as a kindergarten teacher in Windsong to earn extra money to travel. For nine years, she's been to tropical locations across the globe in hopes of satisfying what she thinks is a need for adventure.
But when Georgie breaks company rules, she clashes with the new boss and gets fired before she has enough money to pay for a trip to Bora Bora.
Dejected and disappointed, she flees to her hometown, only to be inundated with questions about why she's back before the end of summer. Embarrassed by her behavior and the mess she made, Georgie goes out of her way to avoid answering questions, hoping to get back to living her everyday life.
Little does she know that after getting fired, the company's owner insists the rift between her and the new boss is mended. Now, Edward Thatcher must go to Windsong to apologize to a woman he didn't realize he'd been falling for.
