Publisher's Synopsis
Brittany Mason is a 30-year-old single mother to young daughters, Rachel and Darcy living in a quaint seaside town on the coast of New Jersey. During the week of Valentine's Day, she is excited to spend time with her new boyfriend. However, her plans turn when she is haunted by a prowler clad in black that stalks her and leaves behind a white, mysterious Valentine's giftbox. When she collapses and is taken to the hospital, police have reason to believe that she is being targeted as they connect her to other murders taking place in New York City. Single women are being tracked and killed, all the while the madman leaves signature Valentine's gift boxes in his wake.
As the police help Brittany while uncovering the tragic events befallen to the victims in New York, Brittany's estranged father re-enters her life while her boyfriend disappears under pressure by the ongoing investigation. Closer to finding answers, Brittany succumbs to the worst horror of all. She wakes up one morning to find her daughters and her beloved dog missing.
Have they been kidnapped, harmed, or are they being led by an apparition that casts his white shadow known as "Old Salty" who is plotting his own revenge on any evil that is cast upon his surrounding harbor connecting New Jersey and New York through the Atlantic Ocean?
As Brittany races to find answers, she must escape her own fateful plight of a madman's target while finding her daughters and dog. Will she succeed at the end with the help from the NYPD Captain or succumb to her own death as she is led underground the Sandy Hook Lighthouse to fight for her and her daughters' lives?
