Rosemary Achaius Friend & Protector of the Last Neugle : [The Early Years]

When you live in the magical Kingdom of Merry: your three best friends are Princess Jaclyn, Prince John Frost from Merry Castle, and a shapeshifting Neugle called Shem, well... strange things are bound to happen....

[He changed the colour of his coat from arctic white to a mixture of greens so that no one would see him in the garden. He hadn't felt so much excitement in years, and the best part was no one knew that he had some of Old Zero's magic. He could really let himself go and have some fun.

He gave the Princess a little smile and continued...

At first, he wasn't sure how to do it, then he remembered that John had made circles in the water with his finger. He reared up in front of the water fountain and uncurled his tail. He swished the water back and forth on each level of the fountain and as he curled and uncurled his tail it hit the water on each level. By the time he was finished the fountain looked like a beautiful ice carving.
He was busy admiring his workmanship when he heard one of the maids scream and saw faces at the castle windows, so he left.

As he galloped down the road toward home, his tail flicked the leaves of the occasional tree or bush by the roadside. He felt so happy.

As he entered the loch at the side of the mill's waterwheel, he sneezed.

When a Neugle sneezes no matter how hard they try they can't stop their tail from uncurling. He had tried so hard to curl it up without splashing the water, but he couldn't, and when his tail hit the loch...
