Publisher's Synopsis
After her mother's death, Ambrosia, a sheepherder's daughter, cares for her mentally challenged sister and vows to bring her prostitute sister home. At the brothel, the runaway sister refuses to return, and a drunk assaults Ambrosia. William Bonney, aka Billy the Kid, stands down the lout, saves Ambrosia, and captures her heart. War and their romance intensify. In the aftermath, Ambrosia travels to Fort Sumner to warn Billy that Pat Garrett is closing in on him. Shots ring out. Billy lies fallen. What will become of Ambrosia?
