Ander Rade is a rogue mod, genetically engineered to be a better fighter, and the past several years held captive and forced into gladiatorial combat after what was supposed to be his last government mission went totally FUBAR. Now, Agents Morgan Moreno and Danny Alter from the Genetic Compliance Department of the United American Provinces have shown up in Ander's hell-hole, offering him his freedom. In trade, Ander has to help them track down another rogue mod, one of Ander's teammates on that ill-fated final mission. None of the three realize just what the implications are in Ander's teammate resurfacing, and there are going to be a lot of surprises coming their way.
