Publisher's Synopsis

Set 2,000 years into a mythical future, the world as we know it has been destroyed in a catastrophe. A young Mapper with the help of an aged Spiro Turnstiles accesses the maps of Rocketo Garrison, world-famous explorer and mapmaker. A holographic projection of Garrison appears and narrates his Journey to the Hidden Sea. The story relates Garrison's idyllic childhood, the loss of his parents and his early training as a Mapper. When the Solarium war breaks out, he is captured by the Royalists and when finally released, his mapping powers are gone. Then, Spiro Turnstiles and his crew shanghai Rocketo Garrison to search for a rare treasure, also being sought by the Royalist forces. The two rival ships enter the deadly Hidden Sea only to be attacked. The survivors are shipwrecked on a mysterious island that holds the key to the treasure and the truth of the catastrophe that shattered the world.
